Job Description: Legal Associate
Coolboots Media Private Limited is seeking a highly motivated and experienced In-House Counsel to join our growing legal team. This role will be instrumental in supporting our business objectives by providing expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of commercial contracts and legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and stakeholder management, along with a solid understanding of litigation management and legal research.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to:
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- International Agreements
- Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
- Software as a Service (SaaS) Contracts
- Technical Contracts
- Vendor Agreements
- Customer Agreements
- Partnership Agreements
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., sales, finance, engineering) to understand their needs and provide timely and accurate legal advice.
- Litigation Management: Oversee and manage litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, preparing legal documents, and monitoring case progress. This includes empaneling external lawyers as needed.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Document and Records Management: Maintain and organize legal documents and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Compliance: Assist in developing and implementing company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Other Legal Support: Provide general legal advice and support on a variety of legal matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree required; Master of Laws (LLM) preferred.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience as an in-house counsel or in a law firm specializing in commercial contracts and litigation.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of commercial contracts, including those listed above.
- Strong understanding of contract law, commercial law, IP laws and other relevant legal areas.
- Experience in litigation management, including coordinating with external counsel.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work as per business requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in the IT, ITES, Service industry.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, DPDP ACT).
